Cornwall Council has been asked by the Department for Transport to submit plans for the development of proposals at both St Marys, Scilly and Penzance harbours to preserve and enhance the sea link between the two ports.
The schemes involve the development and extension of the quay at St Marys and carrying out capital dredging works to deepen Penzance harbour, as well as remedial works to protect the South/Lighthouse pier structure, highway improvements with the possible construction of a breakwater in the future.
The total value of both schemes is estimated about £16,000,000.

Waterford County Council has invited bidders to submit their offers for the Dungarvan Harbour dredging project.
The works include dredging and disposal of approx. 8,000 m3 of non-rock material (deposited silts, sands, gravels and cobbles) from the mentioned area.
This deepening program has been initiated because of the proposed replacement and extension of the existing marina pontoon at Dungarvan.
The deadline for this tender is July 22, 2013.
